Overview

Žarko Mirković (b. 1952) is a renowned Montenegrin composer and academic. He earned his degree from the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade in 1980 and completed his Master's studies at New York University in 1983 as a Fulbright scholar.

He has served as a full-time professor at the Music Academy in Podgorica and the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia.

Artistic Contributions

Mirković has composed numerous choral, chamber, and orchestral works—many considered pioneering in Montenegrin music. His compositions have been performed by national and international ensembles across Europe, the USA, and South America.

He is the composer of the National Anthem of Montenegro.
